A new 21,660m2 Freezer - Cool store building addition to the existing Fonterra Inland Port. This facility comprises four large freezer rooms, three large cool rooms, forklift access and handling areas, a full length truck and rail delivery corridor, separate plant and battery charging rooms, a small office area and drying room.

Particular attention was given to designing the separate structures to allow for differential movement between freezer rooms, cool rooms and ambient rooms, as well as providing stability to seven separate fire cells. Careful detailing was also required to maintain vapour barriers to each separate room.

We undertook the role of Structural and Architectural Design and documentation for Haydn & Rollett Construction as part of a Design-Build contract.
